My Hobbies

I love sports! I used to dance when I was younger, but then switched to basketball and volleyball in middle school! Now I just dance for fun everywhere I go! A fun fact is that I lettered in 4 varsity sports in my 5A high school! My main sports were basketball and volleyball, but I also did tennis and track for a year! Now I play beach volleyball for Liberty! I am the co-spiritual leader of my team as well as serve as a community group leader on my hall! I am a little bit of a perfectionist, but really I just try to do everything with excellence unto the Lord. I have been a Straight A student my whole life except for one B in 6th grade. I was the Captain on my volleyball team all 4 years of high school as well as the captain of my club team for the two years I played. I am a very creative person which is why I am a Strategic Communications major because it is like the creative side of business and marketing! I love drawing, painting, sculpting, you name it. I have a heart for worship. I play enough guitar to be able to play some basic worship songs and have all the passion for singing, just none of the talent haha! I love a good book and will lock myself away until I finish it. Some of my favorite series are “The Selection” and “Sunset Rising.” I love the ocean and have a dream of swimming with whale sharks. Ever since moving to Virginia I have experienced lake life and I love it. My ideal day would start out with some pickleball and then a day out on the boat with music and tubing and a cooler full of sandwiches and chips with my loved ones.

My Testimony

I used to think my testimony was boring compared to others where they had their whole life get transformed by the Lord and were radically changed. I am extremely blessed to have grown up in a Christian home with the most on fire for the Lord people I have ever met as my parents. Ever since I could remember God has always been real to me. I cannot tell you the date or time I was saved. The moment I started writing and drawing I would write Jesus loves you and would draw crosses on everything. One time in Kindergarten I asked my art teacher how to spell ‘sins’ and I came home with a picture of a sunset and the three crosses with ‘Jesus died for my senses’ at the top. I have always had a high moral compass and never wanted to disappoint my parents or God.

One of the only times I doubted God was in 7th grade when He called my family to move to Colorado away from all our family and friends. I did not understand why a good God would do that to me. However, God is good, and He reassured my heart of Jeremiah 29:11 that He had a plan, and it would be better than any plan I could make for myself. Then in high school I went to a public school and that took my faith to another level. I took my faith on as my own and saw it as a mission field. I was exposed to people of all beliefs: Mormons, Buddhists, Atheists, Evolutionists, Deists, etc. I learned how to speak about my faith and pushed me to know as much about the Bible as possible. I loved Public School and I am grateful for the experiences it gave me and how it strengthened my walk with the Lord.

I do not have a crazy testimony, and I don’t have many scar stories. And what is amazing is that God uses both testimonies. He uses the scarred to speak to those who have been scarred in similar ways to which I cannot relate to. And He uses stories like mine to show that when you walk closely with the Lord and live in obedience to Him, you are protected and don’t have to experience the consequences brought on by living in sin.
